Eén materiaal speelt een vitale rol voor GIFAS-producten: massief rubber gemaakt van butylrubber. Dit elastomeer bezit talrijke eigenschappen die het tot het ideale materiaal maken voor extreme werkomstandigheden. Tot deze eigenschappen behoren bijvoorbeeld de uitstekende demping van trillings- en stootenergie, de sterke weerstand tegen zuren en logen, de uitstekende weerstand tegen weersinvloeden, UV en ozon en een hoog elektrisch isolerend vermogen.
