To ensure that the street lights can withstand these conditions in the long term, they should have an IP protection class of 65 to 67. The protection class indicates that the lights are fully protected against water, dust and contact.
• Protection against vandalism: In outdoor areas, the lamps are not only exposed to the weather, but can also fall victim to vandalism. To prevent damage from impacts or projectiles, the impact resistance should not be less than IK09.
• Service life: In contrast to conventional street lighting with old light sources, modern LED technology favors the use of street lights in continuous operation. Modern LED drivers are very energy-efficient and enable operation for 100,000 hours more, which reduces maintenance and repair costs to a minimum and provides planning security.
